    QUESTION:

    When the application won't launch, how can I update or install a Track-It! 2018 license manually?


    ANSWER:


    Follow the instructions given below to install the attached Temp.licx file manually.

    This will provide limited functionality, but will allow you to log in and update the license with your production license using the GUI in the application.

       
    1. Make a folder called "Temp" under C:\ Drive.
    2.  
    3. Extract the attached LicenseFix.zip file to the Temp folder on the Track-It! server.
    4.  
    5. Copy the new .licx file into the Temp folder.
    6.  
    7. Edit the VBS file and enter the "SA password" value to your SA password for the Track-It! SQL
    8.  
    9. Then Run a Command prompt as Administrator and run the following  command: 
                C:\Windows\SysWow64\cscript.exe c:\temp\LicenseFix\testInstallLic.vbs 
      
    If successful, it should say Object Created and then file read. 
      
    After this, do an IIS Reset and then try to log in.
