    PRODUCT:

    BladeLogic Server Automation Suite

    PROBLEM:

When trying to install the BMC Patrol agent using BMC BladeLogic Server Automation (BSA.) the following error is returned:

"Unable to check if this silent install package can be used for the current host"

The same silent install commands also fail with the same error from the command line outside of BSA:

C:\>C:\tmp\image\install.exe -install C:\tmp\image\install.ctl error " Unable to check if this silent install package can be used for the current host "

    CAUSE:

The patrol installer requires the install command to be run from the directory that contains the install.ctl and other install files.

    SOLUTION:

The Patrol installer command must be run from within the directory with the install.ctl and other installation files.  Therefore the command in the package should be:

    cd /d C:\tmp\image install.exe -install install.ctl
