Tomcat6 services fail to start ;Errors like below are seen in the Tomcat logs

[174 javajni.c] [error] The specified module could not be found.
    [947 prunsrv.c] [error] Failed creating java C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0\bin\client\jvm.dll
    [1202 prunsrv.c] [error] ServiceStart returned 1

    ANSWER:

The solution is to copy the msvcr71.dll file from the Java folder to your [windows]/system32 folder.
    For example, copy the file

    C:\Program Files\Java\[java_version]\bin\msvcr71.dll

    to

    C:\WINDOWS\system32

Note:  If the java version uses msvcr100.dll, copy that one instead or as well.

Below are the couple of Links that talks about the same problem and the possible ways to fix this ; One of the other recommendation that we can provide is to be on Tomcat7 or Tomcat8 with JDK 7.  These are stable and proven releases with 8.1.x release of Midtier .
