    PROBLEM:

    How to configure tomcat to use SSL

    1.- What type of certificate is needed to have the MidTier with SSL (ex: https://midtier_server: 8443/arsys)
    Answer:
    Any certificate, either issued by a Certificate authority or a self signed one
    https://docs.bmc.com/docs/ars91/configuring-the-mid-tier-web-server-for-ssl-certificate-719209309.html
    The certificate concepts apply to version 9 and 8x

    2.- How to apply for the Tomcat certificate? Any special condition?
    Answer: Also covered here
    https://docs.bmc.com/docs/ars91/configuring-the-mid-tier-web-server-for-ssl-certificate-719209309.html

    3.- We currently have a certificate "verisgn.cer" but it does not work, we have made the configuration according to TOMCAT and BMC Doc's help, but we have no results.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin>keytool -import -alias "tomcat" -file "d:\v
    erisgn.cer" -keystore "d:\bmc software\arsystem\tomcat"

    <Connector port="8443" protocol="org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11NioProtocol"
    maxThreads="150" SSLEnabled="true" scheme="https" secure="true"
    clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="SSL"
    keystoreFile="d:\bmc software\arsystem\tomcat"
    keystorePass="123456" />

    Answer: please check the documentation and follow the steps in there https://docs.bmc.com/docs/ars91/configuring-the-mid-tier-web-server-for-ssl-certificate-719209309.html

    The keystoreFile is missing in server.xml

    Setting up SSL is separate function outside of Remedy Support. Once you have SSL Configured Properly. There is no special set up needed for the Remedy Mid-Tier.
    Please note that the establishment of SSL in your webserver is not a function of BMC/Remedy Support. Once SSL is installed and confirmed working, we can assist with issues related to Mid-tier access.

    Resolution of issues related to SSL setup may require the involvement of your webserver expert.
