Client Management - NMAP is not present in BCM \bin directory

    PROBLEM:

    Asset Discovery scan can not use NMAP tool because NMAP directory is not present on Asset Discovery scanner in BCM \Client\bin directory.

    CAUSE:

    BCM automatically install NMAP tool when a device is selected as Asset Discovery scanner but on some systems NMAP tool is not installed


    SOLUTION:

    Here is how to manually add NMAP in your BCM directory :

     - Open your BCM Master\data\Vision64Database\packages directory and find Nmap.cst package directory :

    - Open it, in case it contains several 'checksum' sub-directories, select more recent one and open it :

    - You now find an NmapFiles.zip file, open it

    - Select the Nmap.zip file and open it

    User-added image

    - You now find several .zip package, select the one corresponding to your scanner device operating system (let's say Windows)

    - You now find a 'nmap' directory : extract it

    User-added image

    - And copy this 'nmap' directory in the \client\bin directory on your Asset Discovery scanner device :

    - Then open the \Client\bin\nmap directory and run the 'winpcap-criston-software' package that corresponds to your operating system architecture

    That's all, Nmap is ready to be used in BCM Asset Discovery scan
