Criteria for participating in BMC Service Resolution Beta Program
In order to be considered in any of our BMC Customer Programs, you must:

  • Have an active BMC Support ID
  • Be a “willing” conference reference upon positive completion of beta program.
  • Active participation in  beta program (Attend Kick off Call, Attend weekly beta meetings and complete a feedback survey upon beta program completion)
  • Deadline to apply is July 31st 2015.

BMA Beta Program Timeline

  • BMA Beta Program Kick Off Call – August 12, 2015

 

What’s new in BMA 8.8?

- BMA Rest API - Interact with BMA using Rest Services instead of via command line. (Although command line is still available)

- BMA Health and Value dashboard – Show metrics on utilization and performance via a dashboard to help calc ROI and also aid in capacity planning.

- BMA now Server Enabled – A centralized server to help in recording statistics and provide better utilization of resources by scaling the application to fit the desired need.

- Horizontal Scaling

- Multi User Application

 

BMA  Beta 8.8 Technical Requirements:

- The only real requirement is to have access to the following:

1)  At least one target Test Application Server

WebSphere 7.0 and above

Jboss EAP 6.3

WebLogic 12 etc.

2)  Separate machines to install the server and client.   They can be on the same machine if necessary, but they don’t have to be.

Looking for Problem Managers

 

What is it?

These sessions will be 1:1 lead by our bmc UX designers. Sessions are aimed to gather user feedback on early design for Problem Management.  This will help to ensure that the design are truly useful and easy to use.

•          Users will be asked to provide their honest feedback on the designs

 

When is it?

Available 45 minute 1:1 Sessions Thursday June 25th- Friday July 3rd

 

Who Qualifies?

Problem managers who conduct reviews on Problem and Known Errors that have been identified and verifies that all steps were completed and the objective of the process was achieved

Accepting nominations for BMC Remedy with Smart IT 1.2 Release Validation Program

 

This is your opportunity to validate the almost final bits of the upcoming Smart IT 1.2 release and provide feedback to BMC about functionality, usability and quality.  The program is expected to run from mid to end of July and is open to all current Remedy ITSM customers and partners.


  • Smart IT 1.2 introduces some new capabilities to improve change and knowledge management, and the version will offer additional configuration and integration capabilities. Those are just a few of the enhancements that are planned to be delivered with this release.


  • You can participate in the release validation program by reviewing the enhancements of the Smart IT 1.2 version in a hosted environment or by downloading the bits and installing it in your local environment connecting to one of your Remedy ITSM non-production instances (version 7.6.04 SP2 and higher).

Register for BMC UX Onsite Visits - Audience: Asset Receiving & Provisioning and Asset Managers

 

What is it?

These sessions will be onsite visits with observations lasting 1-2 hours.  We would like to observe individuals at work while they describe what they are doing.  We would also like to ask questions about different parts of the job and where they would like to see enhancements with the tools that are using.

 

These sessions are aimed to understand key tasks and process used for the receiving and provisioning of assets and to identify problem and opportunities to improve the experience.

 

When is it?

Available site visits all throughout July (excluding July 2-3).

 

Who Qualifies?

Asset Receiving and provisioning sites responsible for physically receiving, documenting, and provisioning of physical assets.

 

Asset Managers Responsible maintaining and managing assets quality and life cycle, asset data, and asset processes. Work with data center and operational teams.

 

What do you need for the site visit?

Site locations preferably in the US.

What is it?

Looking for Business Analysts and Business Process Owners

 

What is it?

 

These interview and observation sessions will be 1:1 lead by our bmc UX designers. The aim of the session is to understand how certain tasks are completed via the Remedy software tools used in the daily work process.

  • Must be willing and able to show us how tasks are completed in the software tools they use in their work processes, Remedy Developers Studio is a must.

 

When is it?

 

Available 90 minute 1:1 Sessions Monday June 15- Friday June 19th

 

Who Qualifies?

 

  • Business Analyst (also known as Business Systems Analysts, Business Technology Analysts, System Analysts or Requirements Analysts) or Business Process Owners.
  • Above participants who use Remedy Developers Studio for daily work processes.

What is it?

 

1:1 hour session lead by our bmc UX designers. The aim is to gather feedback on new Smart IT design concepts for Change scheduling, Impact Analysis, and Collision management.

Looking for Change Co-ordinators

 

What is it?

These sessions will be 1:1 with lead by our bmc UX designers. Participants will attempt to complete a change request with the new designs and will be asked to provide feedback.  These sessions will focus on:

1.             Edit basic information on a change request (e.g. Change Reason, Categories)

2.             Change dates on the change request

3.             Move the change request to a different status and specify additional information

4.             Add one or more required documents

5.             Change risk question answers

6.             Add or edit CI mappings

7.             Add or edit other linked items (incident tickets, other change requests, etc.)

8.             Add a task

9.             Edit/complete a task

10.          Approve/Reject/Hold a change request

11.          See approvals that have already happened for the change request

 

When is it?

Available 1:1 Sessions commence Monday, March 2, 2015

 

Who qualifies?

Change Coordinators: Ensures changes are approved by all required parties, creates and delegates tasks needed to execute a change, ensures all necessary work is completed for a given change request, Schedules when to execute changes based on a calendar.

Sign Up for our bmc (ADDM) Application Modeling/Application Mapping UX Collaboration Program!

 

What is it?

These sessions will be 1:1 with a member from our usability team who are working on new ideas for ADDM. Participants will be interviewed about their use of Application Mapping, specifically application modeling.  Our goal is to learn about what you do with ADDM, how you model applications, and what your experience have been with ADDM so far.

 

When is it?

Available 1:1 Sessions (45 minutes) commence February 18, 2015 and will run through to February 27, 2015.

 

Who qualifies?

Application Modelers: Creates application models in ADDM.  Job title examples:  Varying – Application modeler, Application owner, Configuration Manager.

Accepting nominations for bmc TrueSight Capacity Optimization 10.3 Beta Program!

The program is expected to run from March - Applications close Friday, February 27, 2015.

 

TrueSight Capacity Optimization 10.3 is next release after version 10.0 planned for the July time frame.

 

TrueSight Capacity Optimization 10.3 Beta Program will focus on the following major themes:


1. Reservation-Aware Capacity Management – Leverage enhanced Reservations analytics and the new

mechanisms provided by Reservation APIs and XML formats to automatically integrate Reservations and

support an Integrated Demand and Capacity Management process.


2. Support for OpenStack Clouds – Experience new Capacity Visibility view for OpenStack, the enhanced

connector to NOVA API and the new connector to Ceilometer API for managing OpenStack-based Cloud.


3. Support for Amazon AWS Cloud – Leverage the new connector to CloudWatch API to collect data related

to workloads placed on the Amazon AWS cloud.


4. Visualization Analytics – Experience new visualization analytics, including the ability to use formulas in

Quick Analysis to create derived metrics or new analysis options to compare metric behavior over two periods

of time (e.g. two weeks or months), incorporate future values (e.g. marketing forecast) in analysis and time

forecasting models, and other usability enhancements.

Sign Up for our Smart IT 1.1 UX Design Collaboration Program!


What is it?

These sessions will be 1:1 and led by our BMC UX researcher. Participants will be asked to attempt to complete basic tasks with the new designs while openly providing feedback.

When is it?

Sessions begin next week, February 4th, 2015.


Who qualifies?

Knowledge Users: Creates new knowledge articles, searches for and uses knowledge to fix issues, provides feedback about article quality and content.

Knowledge Managers: Creates new knowledge articles, “owns” the overall knowledge process and guidelines, ensures consistency, reviews and approves articles for consistency and content, accesses article and refine content


What you need for the 1:1 sessions:

A good internet connection and computer screen to view and interact with designs.  Each session will be done remotely using WebEx.  Once assigned to a specific date and time, you will receive an email with instructions to log in.
