What is it about?

 

We’re inviting you to participate in our early design validation program to get a sneak peek at what’s coming in the BMC Helix Monitor release. You’ll have an opportunity to validate and provide valuable feedback on the capabilities of this next BMC Helix Monitor/ITDA release.

The program is expected to start in the second week of October and run approximately three weeks. This program is limited to a handful of current ITDA customers and partners.

 

What's new in our ITDA  journey

 

The upcoming release will include the following new capabilities:

  • New flow to create collection profiles in the form of log policies
  • Enhancements to the data collector creation process
  • Automated data pattern recognition

 

 

What do you need to do?

Simply record your experience on your computer and answer some questions. The session should take about 15 minutes and must be completed on your desktop.

You may have seen in IBM’s recent z/OS 2.4 announcement, that they are continuing with the industry-wide simplification improvement to help clients install and configure software using a common and modern method.  BMC is also a key player in this initiative and we are excited to invite you to try BMC’s new z/OSMF based installer, which is coming mid-2020.

 

You’ll have an opportunity to engage directly with BMC Product Management and R&D to help validate and provide feedback on the capabilities of this new industry-wide installer.  The program is expected to start at the beginning of November and run approximately three months.

 

The new installer uses IBM’s z/OSMF Software Management capabilities to create a new end-to-end install and configuration experience. 

 

Some of the new capabilities include:

  • Modern web-based user interface, common across IBM and other participating vendors
  • No need to perform SMP/E Receive, Apply, Accept jobs, saving time and system resources
  • Reduction in number of SMP/E datasets to reduce complexity
  • Separation of common infrastructure to simplify combined management of multiple products
  • Reduced number of prompts with our new “prompt once” design
  • Less configuration steps means products are up and running faster than before
  • Consistency across products allows less experienced users to configure products from different product families
  • Automated workflows mean configuration jobs can run unattended and take less time
  • Documentation is in the workflows so no searching through user manuals to learn what to do
  • Carrying forward configuration data simplifies upgrades and expedites product usage

 

Participation in the validation program is simple.  We will make available to you, one or more pre-built Portable Software Instances which will contain current BMC GA products, and new BMC provided z/OSMF configuration workflows.  You then logon to z/OSMF, which is already on your system as part of z/OS and use z/OSMF to open the BMC PSI. 

Then it’s simply a matter of following the provided workflows to install and configure the BMC products.  You don’t even need to run the resulting installed products!  What we are looking for is validation and feedback on the install and configuration process itself.

We’re inviting you to get a sneak peek at what’s coming in the 19.08 Feature Release. You’ll have an opportunity to engage directly with BMC product experts, product management, and R&D to help validate and provide feedback on the capabilities of this next Helix ITSM / Remedy release. The program is expected to start beginning of July and run approxmiately three weeks.

 

The 19.08 Feature Release covers exciting new capabilities in support of BMC’s Cognitive Service Management strategy and in support of better alignment of ITSM with DevOps practices. There are also a number of new features to reduce cost of operations. 

 

Some of the new capabilities include:

  •     enhancements to the new ITSM user experience (Smart IT) and the new CMDB UI
  •     enhancements for the administrative capabilities of Smart Reporting
  •     REST API enhancements

 

We also introduce a number of compatibility updates as part of 19.08 release.  Detailed scope of the release validation program testing activity will be explained during kickoff call scheduled on July 10th.

 

The 19.08 release validation program is open to all current Remedy customers and partners roles.

 

As we’ve done previously, you can participate in the release validation program by reviewing the enhancements in a hosted environment or by downloading and installing the beta version of the software in your own IT test environment.

Remedy AR System

We’re inviting you to participate in a new beta program to test the Remedy platform running with PostgreSQL DB or Amazon Aurora DB.  BMC is considering to support these new databases for use with the Remedy platform, and thus provide a low-cost DB option to our customers, in support of lowering the TCO of the Remedy solution.  You’ll have an opportunity to engage directly with BMC product experts, product management, QA and R&D to help validate and provide feedback on the capabilities of this new option.

 

The program is expected to start early June and will eventually merge with our beta program for the next Helix ITSM / Remedy release.

 

This beta program is open to all current Remedy customers and partners roles.  It focuses specifically on the support of PostgreSQL DB /  Amazon Aurora DB, and specifically on the Remedy platform (Remedy AR System, CMDB, Smart Reporting and Remedy SSO).  We plan to provide a beta version of the software for download and installation in your own IT test environment. A hosted environment will not be provided.

 

What's needed from you?

  • Attendance in beta calls. Current plan is to meet every two weeks.
  • Time and resources to test the new release.
  • Willingness to collaborate with BMC and other customers in our beta community space and to provide open feedback.
  • Be a willing Customer Connect Reference upon successfully completing the program.

Want to provide input on new developments before release? We are looking for partners and customers to be a part of our BMC Helix Client Management 12.9 beta as we plan to kick off the program the week of May 20th and the program will run until the last week of June.

 

Some areas that we plan to include in the beta program are:

  • recording remote control sessions
  • enhancements to the web console
  • patch management
  • operational rules

 

We are looking for participants who can:

  • test new features

We’re inviting you to become an inaugural member of BMC’s “Friends of AMI” community and participate in the development one of ZSolution’s most exciting products in recent years. You’ll have an opportunity to engage directly with BMC product experts, product management, and R&D to help validate and provide feedback on the capabilities of the initial release of AMI Predictive. The community is open now for new members and the predictive product development will start in late January with customer involvement opportunities available now.

 

BMC AMI solutions span the entire ZSolutions’ portfolio including Security, DevOps, Capacity and Cost Management, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Operations. The initial focus of the Friends of AMI community will be on AI Ops solutions and expand to the other products in the future.

 

The first validation program, as mentioned above, will be for AMI Predictive, a machine learning powered solution to predict and notify of potentially system crippling events before they happen. AMI predictive is focused on providing the following initial capabilities:

 

  • Domain expertise-built machine learning models based on decades of experience
  • System health Insights based on multi-variant correlation
  • Out of the box detection of dozens of potentially catastrophic system events

 

The AMI Predictive validation program is open to all BMC customers and partners. Initially focus will be on Db2 and z/OS use cases but will quickly expand to other domains such as CICS and IMS.

 

How can you get involved?

  • Participate in use case validation – “has this happened to you?”
  • Contribute your operational metrics to help validate the models
  • Participate in periodic sprint reviews where developers demonstrate designs, mockups, and/or working code in return for your feedback
  • Participate in facilitated product validation – log into one of our sandbox environments and provide feedback
  • Accept pre-release code into your test environment and provide critical hands on feedback
  • Willingness to collaborate with BMC and other customers and to provide open feedback
  • Be a willing Customer Connect Reference upon successfully completing the program

 

Each customer or partner is encouraged to participate as much as they can but there is no requirement to participate in all opportunities.

 

 

We are looking for participants with the following criteria.  Upon completing the steps in "How to sign up for Beta", you will be notified within one business day if you have been accepted to the program. 

  • Be a current BMC customer
  • Sign our beta agreement
  • Operate IBM Mainframe(s) in your environment, greater than 2000 MIPS
  • Participate in Friends of AMI Activities
  • Operational metrics:
    1. z/OS 2.2 or better
    2. Db2, CICS, or other system/subsystem for which metrics are desired

The program is expected to start around mid-December and last about four weeks.

 

The Remedy 19.02 Feature Release covers exciting new capabilities in support of BMC’s Cognitive Service Management strategy, including, but not limited to:

  • new cognitive ITSM capabilities for improved IT efficiency and quality
  • enhancements to the new Remedy ITSM user experience (Smart IT)
  • expanded reporting capabilities in Remedy Smart Reporting
  • expanded capabilities in new CMDB UI.

 

Beyond that we continue to make incremental product improvements across Remedy platform and ITSM applications.

 

The 19.02 release validation program is open to all current Remedy customers and partners roles.

 

As we’ve done previously, you can participate in the release validation program by reviewing the enhancements in a hosted environment or by downloading and installing the beta version of the software in your own IT test environment.

 

We will be activating BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Service Management on one of the test environments and if interested in providing input on those capabilities please complete the survey below in addition to the below steps to sign up for this beta program.

Accepting Nominations for Upcoming Release Validation Program for a brand new, add on cloud-service targeted for Remedy Customers (Multi-Cloud) (Program Closed)

 

This is your opportunity to engage directly with BMC product experts to provide feedback to BMC about functionality, usability, and quality of a new solution for multi-cloud service management. Accepting nominations for release validation programs of next Remedy release!

 

This is your opportunity to engage directly with BMC product experts, to validate the almost final bits of the next Remedy release, and to provide feedback to BMC about functionality, usability, and quality of the exciting new Remedy capabilities. The program is expected to start around mid/end of Sept and to last for about 4 weeks. The program is open to all current Remedy customers and partners.

 

The next Remedy suite release (incl. Smart IT) introduces a number of valuable new capabilities that are easy to adopt – particularly for customers who are already on Remedy 9.1. The program is open to all roles. BMC is specifically interested in the following roles as participants:

  • CMDB Administrators / Configuration Managers
  • Smart IT Administrators who are responsible for configuring and deploying the Smart IT user experience in support of their company’s customize Remedy ITSM solution
  • Remedy Administrators who are responsible for upgrading to the latest version of the Remedy software in their company’s IT environment, incl. dev, test and production deployments

Announcing BMC Discovery v11.2 Beta Program – We are now taking Beta Nominations!

 

 

BMC is pleased to announce that BMC Discovery 11.2 beta will be available in June.

What is BMC Discovery?

BMC Discovery creates a dynamic, holistic view of data center assets and the relationships between them, giving IT crucial visibility into how the infrastructure enables the digital business.  It serves as the backbone of digital enterprise management, enabling service awareness, cost transparency, and security operations excellence. BMC Discovery’s open platform allows other systems to drive discovery and interact with the data. BMC Discovery scales across the largest and most complex multi-cloud environments, and is well aligned to industry regulations and standards.

Milestones during the Beta Program

 

Beta will commence on 6/13/2017 and run through to 8/1/2017. Only existing customers of BMC Discovery will be able to participate in the beta.

 

Criteria for being part of the BMC Discovery Beta Program

 

BMC Discovery 11.2 Technical Requirements for the Beta:

 

Prerequisites:

  • Test VMware virtual infrastructure
    • ESX/ESXi 4.1 and later
    • VMware Workstation 9.0 and later
    • VMware Player 8.0.2 and later
  • VM appliance should be dedicated solely for beta and will not be able to be upgraded/downgraded to a GA state
  • Customers may upgrade an existing 10.1 and later test environment but it will not be able to be reverted back to a GA release

 

Beta Qualifications:

  • Customers with access to connect and discover AWS or Azure Cloud environments
  • Experienced SAAM modelers with shared software infrastructure

• Complete the pre-release software agreement if you have not signed one before

BMC is pleased to announce that the initial release of Control-M Workbench will be available for beta testing starting March 13, 2017.

 

Please read these instructions carefully if you are interested in this Beta Program.

 

What is Control-M Workbench?

Control-M Workbench is a solution for creating batch business application jobs using a Jobs-as-Code approach. It is a publicly-available sandbox that runs as an open virtual appliance on a personal laptop and enables developers to build, test and debug Control-M jobs.

 

What’s new in Control-M Workbench?

This is the initial release and provides the following capabilities:

  • Get a developer sandbox that runs on your laptop and is ready to work in less than 5 minutes
  • Build, test and debug job flows that automate data pipelines, analytics and batch business flows
  • Use JSON to write the automation rules that become part of your application
  • Use developer-friendly interfaces like RESTful web services or a node.js cli to validate, execute and debug your job flows
  • Store automation rules (jobs) and configuration objects in Git or any other SCM together with the rest of your application artifacts

 

Milestones during the Beta Program

 

This beta program begins on March 13, 2017 and continues until June 14, 2017.

 

Criteria for being part of the Control-M Workbench Beta Program

 

Beta Qualifications:

  • Interest in DevOps, CI/CD and automating business application workloads.
  • Access to a computer with Virtual Box and node.js (or the ability to install these components)
  • Ability to spend 1 to 2 hours to install and configure Beta software and execute the provided tutorials

 

How to sign up for Beta:

 

In order to be considered in any of our BMC Customer Programs, you must:

  • Complete the pre-release software agreement
  • Await and accept invite to our Control-M Workbench Beta group
  • Complete an exit survey upon leaving the program or prior to June 14, 2017.
  • Be willing to act as a Customer Connect Reference upon successfully completing the program.

This is your opportunity to engage directly with the Smart IT product experts, to validate the almost final bits of the upcoming Smart IT 1.6 release, and to provide feedback to BMC about functionality, usability, and quality. The program is expected to start around end of January and is open to all current Remedy ITSM customers and partners.

 

Smart IT 1.6 introduces new Release Coordinator persona and refinements to presently supported capabilities. You can participate in the release validation program by reviewing the enhancements of the Smart IT 1.6 version in a hosted environment.
