As computer technology has evolved, hardware has gotten smaller, faster, and more portable. The processing power of your phone is probably higher than mainframes of the not-so-distant past.

 

Check out this heartwarming article from geek.com that describes the author's nostalgia for a computer that has an awesome presence.

Windows.

 

Yes, you read that correctly.

 

IBM is enabling Windows on mainframes next month.

 

Can we say that computing has now come full circle? We started with mainframes, then we had PCs, and now we have the PC operating system on the mainframe. Wonders never cease.
