A colleague of mine has written a great piece regarding the Maintenance Tool that comes along with your Remedy install.

For those of you that have never used or heard of this, the Maintenance Tool is a great way to manage your troubleshooting efforts. Its most popular feature is its ability to gather and zip all the relevant diagnostic files (logs, configurations, etc.) in order to be sent in to BMC Support. A couple more features that Jesse touches on in his blog are checking for missing configuration files and searching for errors in log files.

 

The Maintenance Tool for ITSM can be found in the ITSM install directory under BMC Software/BMCRemedyITSMSuite/Utilities and can be ran by clicking the BMCRemedyITSMSuiteMaintenanceTool.cmd file. I would invite you to take a look at his blog:
