im trying to create a service request.. after i create the SRD and put it in request for approval status...
even after approving it, the status stays in pending state. can anyone shed some light on this?
i've tried giving individual approvers and group approvers and approved the srd from all those logins respectively. but the status doesnt change.
this keeps occuring every now and then, sometimes it goes into deployed state sometimes it doesn't.
and i havent upgraded to any newer version.
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Just giving a Wild Guess: Try rechecking in Approval Process Configuration Form, search for the Enabled approval for "SRD:ServiceRequestDefinition".
Check if in the Status Flow Tab, the value for Status Field for "Approved" stage is set to "Deployed" and not "Pending".

i did check it, in the course of my investigations.. the thing is... as long as im giving any other user than 'cat mgr' or 'business mgr', its goin to deployed stage...
i could create new users... but this occurs again... i wanna know whats causing this..
also.. can u clue me in as to how to check the approval logs [ if possible ], so i can check how or where the approval is getting stuck,

Hi Abhishek,
You can check the Approval Process Logging.
For this,you can open the AP:Administration Form and open the Server Settings.
Select the Approval Debug Mode checkbox to enable the logging & specify the Path of the File.

hey.. thanks for the help..
but i figured out finnally what was wrong..
the name that u give in the 'Name' category of 'Request Catalog Manager' when creating SRD [ in the definition tab ]
it cannot be more than 30 chars. including spaces. [ if this is common knowledge then.. whoops... if not.. this is good info for that can be added in help docs for ppl like me ]
once i took care of that.. its getting deployed. i did check the server logs to figure this out.
but i didnt check ur procedure.
do i guve the entire path in the approval debug mode ... like in 'C:\Documents and Settings\abhishek_caleb\Desktop' ??
or just a file name ? .. what is the default loggin area where this gets stored?
pls let me know..

You have to specify the Full Path along with the file Name: Eg: 'C:\Documents and Settings\abhishek_caleb\Desktop'\abhishek.txt'.
The file will be created where the AR Server is installed.
