I quote..............
"The archiving of these posts will not impact your point totals "
..... Whats gone wrong ?
Looks like everyone has lost all their points. I was in the 90's. :|
Per the second part of my post.
I would just ask that you give us a few weeks to complete some post migration clean-up on site content relating to the move from the previous BMCDN architecture to the new architecture and address a few problems with status point calculation.
Please give us time to complete the mirgration and address site point issues. We are working on this problem.
I used to be a guru on DevCon since 2001, I had something between 800 and 1000 posts on DevCon.
I hated the migration to BMCDN, because of the system based on points, that in most cases people don't give to the guy who gave the answer.
Only the posts were migrated and your history on DevCon was actually lost. No more guru.
In the meanwhile, I nevertheless answered some questions on BMCDN. And got some points with time. Maybe something more than 100 points.
Now, I'm a novice with 0 points. Everything is lost again.
If someone can explain me how to find the motivation to post anything on this forum, I'll be glad to hear that.
Laurent
Ex-DevCon Guru
Hi Laurent , couldnt agree more my friend , couldnt agree more......
The fact that you have lost points is also personally frustrating for me as I spent time awarding many of them to you.... once we got migrated to DevNet I had many "Unanswered Questions" in my profile , I spent about two hours one day going through all those "Unanswered questions" and awarding points to the rightful poster , in many cases that was yourself...
I'd be highly interested to see the old Devcon stats compared to the stats for this new site.... I suspect participation and contribution has decreased considerably since the move to DevNet.
I am going to wait a few weeks as requested and see what happens......
P.S : Some people are mumbling about a splinter group...............
I lose all my points too
Points are now restored and I have verified that everyone has the same or more points than they did before.
Sorry but it's not true at all. I had two stars and more than 25 points...
I now have 81 points , how can I have 81 ? surely it should only ever be 80 or 85 ?
And I am now missing nearly 200 posts off my post count, when do I get these back ?
lgplaza,
On the backup of the old system, it shows you as having 20 points and one star.
You extra point came from a time where we were experimenting with messageAdded points, which have now been removed. Your ~200 posts were from forums for obsolete product areas that were removed at the request of product management.
You can work with the moderator for the Event and Impact community, rknaub, who can mark questions as answered and assign points. We will be posting info on all the moderators soon.
Now I have 80 points again.......
Depends on the date of the backup. I had 45 points and 2 stars, now 25... but it's not all... I am not receiving all my watched forums.
Hi Dfiel,
"You can work with the moderator for the Event and Impact community, rknaub, who can mark questions as answered and assign points. We will be posting info on all the moderators soon."
Why would I want to do this........ ???? and why just for the event and impact community ... ????? there is zero incentive.
I have spent time giving others points that just got removed due to poor change control on this site, I would not want others to waste time also...
You are a site admin , why can you not give me my post count back ? you took them away.
Please read this announcement concerning Top Participant Points on the BMCDN!!
