Abdul,

You can find your required compatibility matrix on BMC Support Site: http://www.bmc.com/support/reg/remedy-compatibility-tables.html

You need a BMC Support ID for logging in.

Hi,

Yes the Oracle 10.2.0.4 is supported by BMC and works fine with AR System 7.1.

Someone in your organization should have your support contract i.d.; that's all  you need to get a login on the BMC support site. If you are going to continue to work on the BMC Remedy system, I recommend you get one as there is a lot of useful info out there besides the matrices!

The documents cannot be distributed and are only available to customers with a Support ID.  BMC Legal will not allow distribution of documents to individuals that do not have access to Support Central.

I would recommend contacting a BMC sales representative to (a) get back onto BMC Support and (b) potentially provide you with a temporary Support ID while that transaction is underway.

Thanks,

Hi Abdul,

The document doesnt specify that it is supported for further releases of Database.

I just mention that it is supported for Oracle 10g.

And FYI - We have tried with the similar configuration and it works for me.

Actually, it does on page 3.

"Support Policy for later versions of vendor products released after AR System 7.1.00

Itis expected that a vendor will retain full backwards compatibilitywith existing major or minor versions of an operating system whenreleasing maintenance releases, service packs, patches, updates or othersimilar level of changes.  Unless otherwise stipulated by writtencommunication from BMC Software, such maintenance level changes are by defaultsupported and do not require further certification from BMC. "#

Note that this doesn't apply to a major version change (e.g. Oracle 11g on AR System 7.1.00), but does cover patch updates to Oracle 10gR2.

The policy was further enhanced in AR System 7.5.00 to support major and minor versions "or higher", as per my blog and the 7.5.00 Compatibility Matrix statement.

Thanks,
