Form Field

Hi, is it possible to copy an existing field from one form to another?  Or this should be created from scratch?  Thank you.

Re: Form Field

Toty,

You can copy an existing field from one form to another. Follow the steps:

In AR System Administrator, open the form containing the field you want to copy.Select the field you want to copy.

Choose Edit ->Copy.Make sure the form or view where you want to copy this field, is open.Choose Edit->Paste.

If you copy a field to a different form, it retains all the original properties.

HTH,

Sonal

Re: Form Field

There's no validation. Its just to keep the things more easy

Another info;  If the field you are copying has a database ID which conflicts with some other field in the form you are pasting, then system will generate a new Database ID for this new field, all other properties will be retained.

Re: Form Field

Hi Toty,

It will be really helpful to you if you will refer basic guides or learning guides to work on

ARS.

OR rather I would suggest you to attend the Basic Training for ARS Admin Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3

before working on ARS.

Re: Form Field

That sounds funny...

Are you really sure that in Edit Toolbar, Paste option is not available...Try CTRL - C and CTRL -V..

Re: Form Field

Hi

I think you are trying to copy a character field (which is of not a display only type) from a regular form to join form where in the regular form is not in primary or secondary form of the join form..

Ex.

Form A regular

Form B regular

Form C join of A nad B

now if you are trying to copy and paste a field from Regular Form D( a character field) to Form C, you can not see the paste option so you wont be able to do it..

You can copy form regular to regular easily...but dont copy and pasteteh existing fields even if you do so names willbe added "2" at teh end and the BD id chnages..

Regards,

Vishnu
