Install issue with MSSQL

BMC Control-M 6.4.1(Win2008)

For some reason when I go to install the Control-M/EM I am getting the option to only install PostgresSQL with a Default or Custom option. I want the option to install MSSQL. Why am I only getting prompted for PostgresSQL? I just found it is happening on the Control-M Server, too.

I would really appreciate any help on the file watcher command with use of the ipnut rule file.

I am trying to set up a job with ctmfw -input <rule.file> to woatch for multiple trigger files and getting this error in the Sysout after the job ends OK

Syntax error when performing line :'DO_COND PL-PESSTEST905-FILEW-DUMMY-OK +'

Here is the command used in the job:

Hi,

I recently installed a new version of Control-M in our development environment to experiment with. The version is 6.4.01.200 on Windows2003.

The backup guys are planning on moving their HP Dataprotector jobs to Control-M but they have some demands

They want to submit the backup jobs, based upon the date of submission, with certain parameters. For example:

Saturday through Thursday an incremental backup with retention of 13 days.

Every Friday a full backup job with a retention of 5 weeks

Every fourth Friday in a month a full backup job with a retention of 53 weeks

This could easily be done by creating 3 jobs and a custom schedule but they prefer to have 1 job with the parameters based on dates/days of the week.

So the command submitted would be something like this:

Omnib -%%backupmode -%% retentiondays/weeks -%%retentionnumber

Can this be done?

Sysout on multiple locations

Can we write a sysout in multiple locations? one on unix server and other one on windows shared drive.

Agent is running on Linux and EM/SERVER/CM running on windows. scheduling jobs from windows server.

Currently it is writing to linux server where agent is reside. can also write to window share? help please.

I have a agent running on linux, Server/EM/CM/desktop running on windows box. I can see sysout is writen on lunix sysout directory. can i also write sysout on windows box? how can i configure this? jobs are scheduled and running from desktop/em on windows box.

Should BMC Revamp Control-M GUI interface.

Lately, we had seen mobile phone GUI evolution after Apple had came out with iphone. With Apple innovative and daring moved, it has win million of users to give up their current phone and switch to iphone. Now, is BMC innovative enough to breakthrough current conventional GUI and go into a more user friendly one?

I am really looking into some action on this. I had a vision of what Control-M/EM gui should be in the next generation. Viewing properties pages by rotating cube. Sliding left or right to view jobs in EM and Desktop. Drop down menu automatically appear to select action for a job in Main Pane. What do you want the next generation of Control-M to be?

CTM Server 6.4.200 Time Zone Issue

Dear colleagues, I'm working on the follwing scenario:

1 Physical box Unix AIX configured with TimeZone at CET, this big box hosts 3 Control-M Servers as follows:

1 CTM Server within its own Oracle Instance configured with TimeZone CEST UTC/GMT +2 hours (Europe)

1 CTM Server within its own Oracle Instance configured with TimeZone EDT UTC/GMT +11 hours (AsiaPacific)

1 CTM Server within its own Oracle Instance configured with TimeZone ARG UTC/GMT -3 hours (Latin America)

Each CTM Server has its own TimeZone file in order to handle DailySaving and time differencies among the countries.

Now you've got the picture, thing is after a dailysaving at Asia Pacific jobs for that server did not shift time as expected.

Does anyone experience this issue?

Does anyone know about it? Is this a bug ?

Any comment will be much appreaciated.
