Remedy Client 7.5 Patch 3 Silent Install

I am having an issue with the Silent install where it does not install the client on the users machine.

Below is what we setup in the options file for the silent install:

X windows Client - install ARS 7.5 in Solaris

Hi,

I have palns to install AR S7.5 in solaris box.

Earlier, i installed 7.1 in Solaris using Command prompt/Telent.

Now i nstallation doucment syas it require X windows clients in local desktop to install.

Please let me know what is this and which the recommended X windows Client ?

It is OK if I install ARS 75 in solaris using terminal / telnet sessions?

Caught exception while opening popup details windows

Hi everybody.

I have a problem on the ITSM platform.

In attachment you can see the error

When I try to open a detail popup window I've got the "caught exception" error.

I've tryed more tests, and I can not find any solution.

I think that the error is "computer-based". Using the same bmc remedy user on different PCs, the error doesn't appear.

The error is present in IE and Firefox.

There are 2 midtiers in balancing, the platform is REMEDY 7.1 PATCH 6.

The problem appears only on browser, the bmc remedy client seems to work correctly.

Can you help me, pleasssssse?

Plugin server not responding

Hi All,

I installed Remedy 6 on my local machine. i have 3GB RAM, 300 GB HDD and 4 CPU's. I developed custome helpdesk application and web services.

When i am running load test on SOAP UI for web service. The arplugin.exe has reported error message in arerror.log file.

I check task manager, arplugin.exe is fine.

Error:

The AR System Plug-In server is not responding. Cannot connect to the system at this time. Contact your AR System Administrator for assistance. (ARERR 8939)
An exception occurred from the WebService class : (400)Bad Request (ARERR 9130)
An exception occurred from the WebService class : (400)Bad Request (ARERR 9130)

I also check my ar.conf entry.

Create an incident ticket using Java api

Hi,

I am using the Incident Management 7.5.00 and I want to create some incident tickets through Java api. According to the "integration_guide"I found in web site, we should submit an incident through the HPD:IncidentInterface_Create form.

However I check the data base, HPD_IncidentInterface_Create does not have such column "z1D_Action" which is a must as advised by the doc.

And can anyone help to provide some sample Java code for creating an incident ticket?

I am quite new to this product. Apprieate very much for the help.

SRM Questions to Workorders

I have not been able to get the SRM customer supplied questions to push to the back end forms like workorder and Incident. I added the local as directed in the knowledge base but it didn't work.

New installation of EIE on a second SQL server

Hi Folk,

We are moving the EIE hardware to a new environment, therefore we are looking to create a new installation of EIE on a second SQL server.
can we have two copies of EIE, on different sql servers, pointing to one ARS instance? Would/could they share configuration? Would the installation of the second overwrite the config of the first?
Are there any license implications?

Anyone can advise please?

Duplicate notifications on helpdesk modify

I set up a filter to fire a notification on Modify of the HPD:HelpDesk form by anyone other than the assignee:

( 'Assignee Login ID' != $NULL$ ) AND ( ( 'Last Modified By' != 'Assignee Login ID') OR ( 'Last Modified By' != "AR_ESCALATOR" ) OR ( 'Last Modified By' != "Remedy Application Service" ) )

For some reason it fires twice, even when updated by the assignee. Any ideas what I did wrong here?

Sending customized error message in webservice

When ever the client is sending incorrect information in the ClientCreateRequest transaction, (they are consuming our webservice)remedy is sending some error code and error description depending on the fault information sent by the client.

What the client needs is append two additional fields’ status code and status description along with the error code and error description. They have some list of values defined in these fields.

How to get this thing done as the response is initiated by the server as soon as it’s receives a request.

Webervice Problem

Hi All,

We create a ticket on PM form and send it to the client through Client Request transaction. We have mapped the fields in the web service. Most of the fields are optional which are used in all the requests.

But what remedy is doing is, it is sending all the fields when we trigger a Create Request transaction.

The client is not accepting the empty fields. They only want to see the fields which have some data in them.

But when we unmapped the unwanted fields from the web service, at any point of time (even in the requests where these fields are required) remedy is not sending these fields.

Can you guide me

Reporting on incident relationships

Hello Evybody,

I need your help on this query please.

I need to be able to report on re-opened tickets. As I understand it, the way ITSM does this is to open a new ticket and relate them in both their relationships tabs with a relationship association type of Re-opened by and Re-opened from respectively.

I click Advanced Functions -> Advanced Search from an incident search form and pick Search Incidents by Relationships, then click select. As expected, I get a Search Relationships form. I fill in RequestType "Incident", Association Type "Re-opened by" and Form Name "HPD:Help Desk" in the Relationships section and Incident Status "Closed" in the Incident section. I then click the search button. I get an error message: "Cannot open catalog; Message number = 1583 : position 8 ('Status') (ARERR 1583)".

Has anyone some info about this issue or there is any other way to do it?
